It is the emperor of Japan's birthday. During the reception held in the pavilion, the general commissioner of the Japanese participation announces that the exhibition of Osaka of 1970 will be called Expo in honour of Montreal.

The first amateur groups are applauded at the Exhpo - choirs of Quebec and Nova Scotia.
