OECD Pavilion
The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Develpment is the forum in which21 industrialized countries meet to discuss and try to harmonise their economic policies. Based in Paris, its members are: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Federal Repuplic of Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Britain and the United States.
The OECD Pavilion is on ile Notre-Dame, with Expo-Express, Minirail and Vaporetto stops nearby. Exhibits illustrate the principal aims of the OECD:
1) to achieve the highest sustainable economic growth and employment and rising standard of living in members countries, while maintaiging financial stability and thus contributing to the development of the world economy;
2) to increase financial and technical assistance to the world's trade.
The 21 OECD countries re close to reaching the target they set of raisin their joint gross national product by 50% between 1960 and 1970, Two-third of world trade is conducted by OECD members, also furnishing 90% of all aid to poor countries.

Man and is World in 1969 - Igloo
The most impressive collection to date of Eskimo art from the northern reaches of Quebec is on display in this pavilion. Among the 150 works are carvings in stone, ivory and bone and a selection of graphics. A 21-foot-long sealskin kayak, examples of Eskimo handicrafts and sound recordings of Eskimo music and commentary on the exhibit also are featured, as are slide projections of artists at work and of Eskimo life. The Igloo boutiques sells handicrafts. Artists represented are residents of the Ungava region, le Nouveau-Québec, and some may be seen at work.
