Polymer Pavilion

Curiosity is the common instinct that as shaped the world. The is why it as been chosen as the keynote for the pavilion of the Polymer Corporation.

The Polymer Pavilion, pratically opposite the Metro station on ile Sainte-Hélène, explores the theme to show how Polymer scientists link to tiny world of the molecule to the mighty concept of Man and his World.

Rising above the two-level pavilion is a giant size molecular abstraction that gleams in the sun by day and takes on an aura of mystery by night.

On the upper level, the fascination of electrostatics, the phenomena of wave motion, the nature of light and color and the factors that make things take their particular shape are explored.

Thence by dual stairways to the lower level and the sub-microscopic world of molecules.

Demonstrations show how curiosity leads man to inquire how things are made and work, how to make things synthetically and to improve them.

Other exhibits show that where things may look the same, this is not necessarilly true. A Scientists' Blackboard challenges visitors of inquining mind.

Hostesses are available to answer visitors' questions in many languages.
