Algeria

Algeria is an ancient land with a new look, an accent on education and industrial development, on the exploitation of the natural resources such as oil and natural gas of the Sahara, phosphates, zinc and lead. At Bône a large steel plant has been erected.

The Algerian pavilion shows a country of which the face is exceedingly varied, with a terrain of gnarled olive trees in the north; mountainous areas where wild boars, gazelles and jackals share large forest of evergreens, warm areas where fig, eucalyptus, agave and palm trees flourish, and the coastal plain with abundant vineyards.

Return

Kuwait

The state of Kuwait's pavilion tells the story of Kuwait's almost incredible economic growth. Only a few short years ago a small unknown country on the shores of the Arabian Gulf where people depended on pearl fishing and seafaring, it is now the world's second largest exporter of oil.

Return

Morocco

Three-quaters of the Moroccan people live in the country. Peasants represent 65 per cent of the labor force. Stock raising and fishing are two important factors in the economy.

Visiting the pavilion of Morocco not only gives an opportunity to admire the beauty of the country, it also invites appreciation of the other features of this land.

Return

République Arabe unie

In the United Arab Republic today the implacable faces of 3,200 year old statues face the frenetic activity that marks construction of the gigantic Aswan High Dam.

The fascination of the United Arab Republic lies as much in the dynamism of today as in that of ancient times which contributed so much of art, literature, philosophy and science to Man and his World.
