Africa Pavilion - Togo

Place d'Afrique

Togo, country of 1 620 000 inhabitants which proclaimed its independence in April, 1960, owes its name to a small African village, a place of the signature, in 1984, of a treaty of protectorate between the Germans and king Mlapa III.

By his coast on the Atlantic Ocean, the Togolese Republic, the country of agriculture, possess big possibilities of exchanges with the outside world. His business is indeed prosperous. His main products of export are the cocoa, the coffee, the phosphates, the cotton and the palm oil. Although situated in the tropical zone, the country enjoys a moderate climate.

The tourists can see, among others curiosities, hippopotamuses and crocodiles there.
